Life Coach Brian Tregunna outlines how he can help people to release strong long-term negative emotions.
More people are carrying strong long-term negative emotions such as anger, sadness, fear, hurt and guilt than is commonly known or recognised. Mainly because, despite mental health being less of a taboo subject than it used to be, many people are still often reluctant to talk about their feelings or to seek help when it’s necessary.
Those strong negative emotions can be very challenging and debilitating, draining our mental energy and making everyday life much more difficult to deal with. Depending upon the level of intensity, they commonly make it difficult for people to think clearly, find motivation and be proactive. That’s why the situation is sometimes described as being like carrying an ‘invisible rucksack’.
Although everyone’s life experiences are specific to themselves, negative emotions are commonly accrued from early years onwards, then continuing on through the teenage years and into adulthood. Sometimes they relate to identifiable traumatic events, such as accidents or injuries, but often they are the result of small incremental negative experiences, such as bullying, verbal abuse and toxic relationships.
The negative emotions can then build up slowly but steadily so that people become acclimatised and accepting; saying things like, ‘I’ve always felt sad but that’s just the way I am’ or ‘I’m not an angry person but sometimes it just pours out of me when I’m upset.’ These are clear signs that a person is carrying long-term negative emotions.
The good news is that those strong long-term negative emotions can definitely be released.
As an experienced Master Coach, I have used a process called Timeline Therapy to help literally hundreds of my coaching clients to release those negative emotions. It’s a relatively straightforward process that has worked well with every one of my clients who have wanted to be helped and committed to life coaching support.
What’s more, once those emotions are gone, they are gone forever. My clients often provide feedback describing how they feel calmer, more relaxed and clear-minded. Also, much more able to move forward, make decisions and to create the life they want.
Helping my clients to achieve transformational life-changing breakthroughs is one of the main reasons that I love being a Life Coach.
