Becky is passionate about Physiotherapy and helping her patients to achieve their goals, whether that is winning a medal at the World Championships or being able to do everyday life activities successfully. This involves treating injuries as well as reducing the risk of injuries though advice and an individual exercise plan so that people can achieve their movement potential!
Becky takes time to listen to her patients so that she can get a good understanding about what is going on and what someone hopes to achieve with Physiotherapy. Following the assessment, Becky helps to educate her patients about what is going on and why, as well as creating an action plan to help them achieve their goals. This can involve a variety of hands-on treatment, exercises and advice. She is also trained in Pilates through the APPI and can provide one to one Pilates sessions.
Since graduating in 2003 Becky has had a varied career working with people of all ages and abilities. Throughout her career, Becky has developed a specialism within sports Physiotherapy and has achieved her Gold Accreditation with the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine as well as completing her Masters in Sports Physiotherapy.
Alongside her clinic work, she works with GB Rowing and is a lecturer on the MSc in Sports Physiotherapy at Bath University and guest lectures at Exeter University.
Previously, she has worked for many years within rugby both at the Cornish Pirates RFC and Exeter University RFC which is closely linked with Exeter Chiefs, as well as the high-performance sports squads and TASS athletes (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) at Exeter University including sailing, netball, hockey and rowing. In 2012, she worked at the Olympics as a Games Maker Physiotherapist in Weymouth.
In addition to her sports experience, Becky has worked throughout her career with members of the public both within the NHS and private practice. She has extensive experience of working within GP practices assessing, diagnosing and creating a management plan for patients of all ages and abilities.
